
Amy Park, MD, is a pelvic reconstructive surgeon at the National Center for Advanced Pelvic Surgery at Washington Hospital Center, and is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology, and urology at Georgetown University Medical Center.
Dr. Park specializes in minimally invasive techniques, such as vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery, for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. She also has a special interest in education and research on pelvic floor disorders, and is the principal investigator on several multi-center trials, including surgical education and robotic surgery.
Additional Training, Education and Research
Dr. Park earned her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in 2002. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh, Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2006, and completed a combined fellowship in female pelvic medicine & reconstructive pelvic surgery and minimally invasive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2009. Dr. Park also has had specialized training in statistical analysis and clinical trial design.
Honors, Awards and Society Memberships
Dr. Park is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and has been nominated for medical student teaching awards. She has published numerous papers on urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse in major medical journals, as well as authored several book chapters. Dr. Park has also produced prize-winning surgical videos and research presentations. She has received several major research grants from the American Urogynecologic Society and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Park is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
