The Urologic Oncology Center provides a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant tumors of the male genitourinary and the female urinary system. The goal of individualized care is upheld in collaboration with a patient�s referring physicians, urologic surgeon, and team of treatment specialists.
The Center provides services for the following types of cancers:
- Prostate
- Kidney
- Testis
- Bladder
- Urethra
- Penis
- Adrenal gland
Cancer management, treatment and rehabilitation options include:
- Surgical excision
- Radiation therapy
- Chemotherapy
- Immunotherapy
- Minimally invasive surgery, such as laparoscopic
approaches and prostate and renal tumor cryoblation
- Intravesical chemotherapy or radical cystectomy with
continent urinary diversion (bladder replacement using intestine instead of
external drainage system
- Nerve-sparing prostatectomy
- External radiation or brachytherapy (radioactive seed implants)
