| MedStar Health Brings Women’s Specialty Care to Chevy Chase November 1, 2012 |
Washington, D.C., Nov. 1, 2012 - Women’s health experts from MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital are now available closer to home for many Montgomery County and northwest Washington women with the opening of the Women’s Specialty Center at 5454 Wisconsin Ave., in Chevy Chase, Md. “We are delighted to offer services that, until now, were mostly available only in academic medical centers,” said Abbie Fields, MD, a gynecologic oncologist, who specializes in cancers of the female reproductive system. Dr. Fields is the medical director of Gynecologic Oncology at the Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Also available at the MedStar Women’s Specialty Center are experts in women’s cardiology, breast health, endocrinology, maternal-fetal medicine, genetics, pelvic surgery and ovarian and uterine cancers. The office is located in the Barlow Building and includes on-site parking. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., by appointment only. All insurances are accepted.
