Washington, D.C., January 16, 2013 - MedStar Washington Hospital Center has appointed Donna Arbogast as vice president of Public Affairs & Marketing. Arbogast is a proven leader, communicator and business owner with expertise in strategic communications, healthcare branding, public relations and marketing. She has a depth of experience in building brands through leadership positioning and advocacy.

Before joining the Hospital Center, Donna served as principal of Donna Arbogast & Associates, LLC, an established successful branding, marketing and public relations consultancy, and as a senior strategist with Springboard Brand & Creative Strategy, a communications firm in Chicago. Through her own firm and with Springboard, Arbogast worked with such clients as Greater Baltimore Medical Center and St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore; Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md.; Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill.; Lehigh Valley Health Network in eastern Pennsylvania; West Georgia Health in La Grange, Ga.; and Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del.

Arbogast has a unique familiarity with MedStar Washington Hospital Center as both a former Hospital Center associate and a long-time consultant, having served in a number of leadership roles that extended through 1996 as the interim director of Public Affairs & Marketing. As a consultant, she led several award-winning integrated marketing campaigns for the Hospital Center on health issues ranging from women and heart disease to cancer survivorship.

Arbogast holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, where she graduated cum laude, and a master’s degree in marketing from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
