Thank you for your interest in Washington Hospital Center's graduate medical education programs. This website was developed, not only to showcase our exceptional training programs, but to answer your questions as you search for the most suitable educational opportunity.
Since 1958, Washington Hospital Center has been a leader in residency and fellowship training. Each year, some 300+ residents and fellows develop and acquire knowledge and skills in a variety of programs. Our high volume of patients and diverse case mix allow residents and fellows to experience the extensive hands-on training they need to become excellent clinicians.
All of our residents and fellows give high marks to the quality of the education they receive at the Hospital Center. Specifically, they cite our dedicated faculty members, our access to research opportunities, our affiliation with leading medical schools, and our focus on continuing medical education as reasons why they thrive. Because the Hospital Center is an independent academic medical center, residents and fellows enjoy extensive collaboration with our community-based medical staff in a rigorous academic environment.
Sincerely,
Janis Orlowski, MD
Senior Vice President, Medical
Affairs and Chief Medical Officer
