Providing for world-class health care community can be accomplished through generous donations of philanthropic individuals who give to Washington Hospital Center Foundation. Every gift counts, no matter the size, and every contribution provides a future investment in the health of our community.
Since 1984, Washington Hospital Center Foundation has recognized those who have contributed at least $1,000 during the previous year to the many programs and departments at the Hospital. These donors are distinguished as members of our Center Society. Contributions received through the Center Society have helped fund a wide range of services, from advanced technology such as the daVinci® S™ Robot; to capital needs, including the expansion of the cardiac cath lab; to program support such as the Teen Alliance for Prepared Parenting. These gifts are essential to the success of MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Center Society Members are recognized at several giving levels:
In 1958, Maryland Senator Millard E. Tydings sponsored legislation to create MedStar Washington Hospital Center. To recognize this support, the Tydings Society was established to recognize those philanthropists who have put Hospital Center’s mission of giving to the community as a core in their estate plans. By making a planned gift, these donors have established a legacy of giving that fund Washington Hospital Center’s excellent medical staff, research and facilities.
