Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a sophisticated, non-invasive way to view the heart and nearby blood vessels. Doctors are able to see the structure and function of the heart through this unique and safe method used to determine possible heart conditions.
MedStar Washington Heart Institute’s cardiac MRI facility has been operating since 2001, and serves as many as 10 patients daily. Available for both inpatients and outpatients, the cardiac MRI laboratory is staffed by cardiologists and specially trained technicians.
