
Joseph Africa, MD, completed a residency in internal medicine at the Albert Einstein East Campus Program in New York in 1998. Dr. Africa then went on to complete a general surgery residency at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital, Philippines in 2003. He received fellowship training in kidney and pancreas transplant surgery at Washington Hospital Center from 2004 to 2006.
Dr. Africa’s research interests include transplant outcomes in African-Americans, Alemtuzumab induction and steroid-free maintenance immunosuppression in kidney transplant recipients.
