Some caregivers that used to find their religion or faith a comfort now struggle to find meaning. You may find yourself thinking, Why me? Why my family? Some caregivers may turn away from their faith. Others may find that their faith brings them comfort and helps them find meaning in the cancer experience.
Talking with a religious or spiritual leader may help during this time. Some caregivers find support in a religious or spiritual group.
At Washington Cancer Institute, our spiritual counselor is specially trained to help families and caregivers talk about their feelings about faith during challenging times. This service is free for Cancer Institute patients. Learn more about Spiritual Support.
