We have a top-notch team that ensures that our patients will have excellent support throughout their experience with endocrine surgery.

Meet our endocrine surgery nurse:

Diane Waak, RN, BSN, has been the endocrine surgical nurse for five years. She has been at MedStar Washington Hospital Center for 25 years, and brings a wealth of experience to the endocrine surgery section. Diane regularly attends educational meetings for endocrinology at the Hospital Center and at national conferences sponsored by the American Thyroid Association. She is extremely knowledgeable and caring, which is beneficial for our patients, as they navigate through the system from their consultation to surgery and the post-operative period. Diane works with our office assistants to coordinate appointments and schedule surgery for our patients.

Our office assistants, Stephanie Flowers and Tina Saunders, diligently work to schedule patients and to organize their charts prior to their appointments. They also help coordinate appointments and schedule surgery for patients after their consultation.
