Timothy Shope, MD, completed a general surgery residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital, Albany, New York in 2002. Dr. Shope received fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania from 2002 to 2003.
Dr. Shope’s clinical interests are in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, including benign conditions of the stomach and esophagus, solid organ surgery of the adrenal gland, spleen, kidney and pancreas; hernia surgery, gall bladder surgery, benign conditions of the small bowel and colon, as well as gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy and revisional procedures for morbid obesity. His research interests include surgical simulation, surgical education and bariatric surgery.
