

Wiemi Douoguih, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. He serves as medical director for MedStar Sports Medicine, South Region and as the director of Sports Medicine at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Douoguih specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee. He has a particular emphasis on new and emerging minimally invasive reconstructive surgical practices.
Dr. Douoguih serves as the medical director and head team physician for the Washington Nationals baseball team (MLB). He also serves as associate team physician for the University of Maryland and for the USA judo team.
Dr. Douoguih is the only high-volume Tommy John surgeon in the mid-Atlantic region. He was the first orthopaedic surgeon to describe a conjoined tendon transfer for anterior shoulder instability in a peer-reviewed journal.
