How to Use Essential Oils

  • Place a few drops of the essential oil in steaming water or a humidifier to spread the aroma throughout the room.
  • Add a few drops of essential oil to bathwater or place drops on your pillow at night.
  • Apply a preferred scent of essential oil to the skin during a massage.

It is important to note that while some people report positive benefits with aromatherapy, such as a sense of relaxation or reduced pain or nausea, others say that many smells make them feel more uncomfortable or ill, especially during cancer treatment. It is best to try this complementary therapy gradually. Some aromas may appeal to you and others may not. Explore and decide for yourself what works best for you.
