Exciting Developments
In the area of nursing, Washington Hospital Center is very pleased to announce a partnership with Georgetown's School of Nursing and Health Studies to create an innovative scholarship program that will be the first of its kind in the District of Columbia. The Georgetown University Scholars at Washington Hospital Center program will expand the capacity of the school's Accelerated Second Degree BSN program and demonstrates our commitment to the practice of professional nursing at Washington Hospital Center.
In this program, college graduates who already hold a bachelor's degree or higher in another field will earn a bachelor of science in nursing from Georgetown University in only 16 months. Participants will receive a combination of academic and clinical training on both the Washington Hospital Center campus and Georgetown campus from Georgetown faculty and qualified Hospital Center staff.
The program offers an 80% tuition scholarship in exchange for a three-year commitment
to a nursing position at Washington Hospital Center.
This partnership with Georgetown University enables employees to grow and learn through innovative new programs. This program will help Washington Hospital Center continue to deliver exceptional patient care as well as educate and retain a highly trained pool of employees.
