The Orthopaedic Oncology Center at Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center is led by Robert M. Henshaw, MD, a nationally-renowned expert in orthopaedic tumors and cancers of the musculoskeletal system.

Our team of orthopaedic oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and radiologists who practice in the field of musculoskeletal tumors are conveniently located in Washington, D.C.

Our expertise includes minimally invasive methods of biopsy, complex tumor resections, advanced techniques in limb sparing surgery, complex revision or reconstructive surgery of the extremities, shoulder and pelvic girdle surgery.  Our limb salvage rate is 98 percent.

Referring Physicians
We offer a full range of consultative services to referring physicians. If you are a physician referring a patient in need of urgent services, please call and ask to speak with one of our doctors or nurse practitioners.

For routine referrals, we kindly ask you to forward all medical information to our Center before we see your patient. This ensures we are fully prepared for the appointment.
