The Section of Gynecologic Oncology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center is a full service department dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of women with gynecologic cancers.

Our providers have the experience and expertise to treat precancerous and cancerous conditions of the cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, vulva, vagina and placenta.

Studies suggest a superior outcome when gynecologic cancers are treated by designated specialists of that field. Our staff includes board certified gynecologic oncologists, as well as specialty trained oncology nurses and support staff. Our nurse specialists are readily available to meet patient needs, and assist in coordinating treatment planning, testing, procedures, social services, pain management and home care.
