Gastroenterology
The section of gastroenterology provides complete diagnostic and therapeutic services in the treatment of diseases and symptoms of the esophagus, stomach, biliary tree, small bowel, colon, liver and pancreas. The section specializes in handling difficult gastroenterologic problems, with particular expertise in liver disease and therapeutic endoscopy. Emergency management of a wide range of abdominal problems, including gastrointestinal hemorrhage, is available.
Special Services
Endoscopic services, including:
- Colonoscopy and dilation, stent placement, large polyp resection
- Upper endoscopy and dilatation, stent placement, ablation therapy
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Fine Needle Aspiration
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with therapeutic intervention
- Small bowel endoscopy
- Video capsule endoscopy (also know as the pill camera)
- Spray Cryotherapy (Invasive surgery that uses freezing technology to destroy cancer growth and cells)
- Esophageal motility and 24 hour pH monitoring
- Bravo
- Esophageal sclerosis and banding
- Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC)
- HRIM Gastroesophageal Manometry
- Ambulatory Gastroesophageal pH and Impedance (pH study for Adults)
