Department of Dermatology

The department of dermatology provides consultation, management and treatment for severe and generalized skin diseases at two convenient locations including Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University Hospital, and in Chevy Chase, MD. Our department also has an active research program affiliated with Georgetown University Hospital. It is the only program in the Washington area that provides both inpatient and outpatient intensive dermatologic care for severe skin and skin-related diseases.

We Provide

• General dermatology services
• psoriasis treatment with UVB and Goeckerman Regimen on both an outpatient and inpatient basis
• evaluation and treatment of occupational skin diseases
• evaluation and treatment of photosensitive diseases
• photopheresis
• hair/scalp diseases
• photoaging and cosmetic consultation and treatment, including Retin-A usage, collagen implantation and fillers
• skin-cancer screening and management, including long-term pigmented lesion surveillance and removal hair and scalp disease clinic
• cystic acne therapy
• dermatopathology services
• Mohs surgery
• cosmetic services are also available
