Surgical Critical Care
Surgical Critical Care is the care of patients who become critically ill following surgery and need specialized nursing and other types of care. At MedStar Washington Hospital Center, our Surgical Critical Care service has a reputation for delivering outstanding multidisciplinary patient and family care when managing surgical complications.
Most of the patients we manage are those whose complications cannot be managed on a standard surgical floor. Patients following surgery need constant monitoring and supervision. Nurses, physician assistants and respiratory therapists join a team of board-certified surgical care physicians who care for these patients. Learn more about Our Team.
