Billing Questions
Q: Where should I call if I have a question about my bill?
A: MDL uses a billing company named The ARx Group. Inquires can be made by calling The ARx Group at 866-934-6364 or by calling the number on your invoice. The ARx Group Client Service staff will answer your questions regarding the tests that were billed, and also questions pertaining to insurance payment.
Q: What hours are the best times to call The ARx Group ?
A: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST, Monday – Friday.
Q: What information should I have ready when I call The ARx Group?
A: Please have your insurance card and MDL bill when you call. You will be asked your Account number on the bill. You may also want to have the “Explanation of Benefits” (EOB) you received from your insurance company related to this visit.
Q: Why do I get a separate bill for each lab visit?
A: Insurance companies pay for lab tests according to the “Date of Service” (date you had your specimen collected). By having separate accounts (and bills), payments can be applied to the correct tests and dates of service.
Q: Why do I sometimes get bills from MDL and PathStar?
A: Some complex lab tests require that a pathologist (laboratory physician specialist) must also review the results and/or make an interpretation. In these cases, the pathologist professional billing company will send you a bill that is separate from MDL.
