Palliative Oncology
Palliative Care Specialists are medical professionals who help their patients manage their pain through a combination of medical, surgical, emotional and spiritual support programs. The goal is to lessen pain, as well as give psychological guidance and comfort to patients who are suffering from serious illnesses.
Palliative treatments can be given at the same time as treatments for cancer. Treatments often recommended include counseling and emotional support, physical therapy and relaxation techniques.
Pain management is an important concern for our patients. Our team will work closely with your physician to find the right combination of pain fighting techniques that work for you, including pain medicine, various therapies and relaxation techniques.
Examples of the types of symptoms and problems for which patients are referred to the palliative care program include:
- pain

- fatigue
- loss of appetite
- constipation
- weakness
- anxiety
- sleeplessness
