Consultation

The consultation is the first part of radiation treatment. You are here to meet with our radiation oncologists and the entire medical team, so we can get to know each other better and assess the best form of treatment for you.

Consultation usually involves the following:

  1. Meeting with the radiation oncologists to discuss treatment options, diagnosis, possible side-effects and scheduling of treatment.
  2. Pre-registration. This will involve our staff recording all your health and medical insurance information. This allows for all insurance matters to be resolved prior to treatment, so that there is no additional stress when you come for your treatment visits.
  3. You will be taken to an exam room, where the nurse will ask your some questions about your medications and other forms of treatment.
  4. A tour of our state-of-the-art facilities so you can see our radiation technologies, private changing rooms and treatment rooms.

The patient's information is sent to the team to prepare for simulation visits.
