Ellen Whitaker, MD

Dr. Whitaker is chief of gynecology within the Women's and Infants' Services division at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and medical director of the hospital's Fibroid Center. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of fibroids.
Training, Education and Research
Dr. Whitaker received her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
For four years, Dr. Whitaker served as the assistant chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Malcolm Grow United States Air Force Medical Center. She joined the faculty of the Women's and Infants' Services division at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in 1995.
Honors, Awards and Society Membership
Dr. Whitaker is a fellow of the American Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a member of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
Also, Dr. Whitaker is the current chair of the Clinical Improvement Committee for Women's and Infants' Services at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
