Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is critical for managing the pain associated with trauma and nerve pain due to cancer treatments. The physical therapists at the Pain Center at Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center are trained to teach recovering cancer patients exercises to strengthen their bodies and muscles.
Your physical therapist will design an individualized treatment program that targets treating your pain, but also strengthening your body so you can better manage the pain. Visits are scheduled at your convenience. Your pain management specialist will refer you to the appropriate physical therapist to help manage and treat your pain.
