For cancer patients experiencing pain and side effects from treatment, food is often the last thing on the list of things to manage. However, good nutrition is very important for cancer patients, to maintain strength and to help heal the body.
The nutrition service at Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center provides education and support to ensure that patients receive excellent nutrition during treatment. Meetings with nutritionists are tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient. Our staff consists of oncology nutrition specialists who are registered and licensed dietitians with experience in clinical and preventive oncology services.
Licensed dietitians Cindy Clark and Jocelyn Lutkus are available to answer questions, identify resources and provide guidance. You may also call 202-877-3498 for more information, or to make an appointment.
