Social Workers

Social workers are responsible for helping people create coping strategies to manage  various challenges in their lives.  The social workers who work with the pain management specialists at Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center are specially trained to help patients create daily routines to manage their pain and side effects.

As a patient, you may also see a social worker to talk about your issues and concerns.  Social workers are available to help design systems for managing life for both you and your family.  They also may come visit your home.
