Physical Therapists
Physical therapists are trained and licensed health care professionals who treat pain related to posture, alignment and nerves. Often, cancer patients find the treatment regimen affects their body strength. Physical therapists can design a treatment plan that works on strengthening the muscles and form of the body.
Specially-designed exercises can also help manage nerve pain by loosening the muscles around the area of pain. The physical therapists referred by the pain management specialists at Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center are trained to treat patients with pain caused by cancer.
